Here is what a few of my clients have said about me

Me: Can you describe in your own words what you think about the therapy you received, whether it has helped you and how you are changed as a result of it.

This is from Amar P (male British Indian 34 years)

I think it has been ground breaking. It has helped me to overcome issues that I have had for many many years. It has given me the space and guidance to try experimenting different techniques to help me see different perspectives. As a result of having had the opportunity to try out different ways of thinking and approaching situations and the space to evaluate these, I have seen a significant improvement in how I am able to face and cope with challenging situations, and above all how I am able to recover from periods of distress. This is all helping me to build a much more resilient relationship with myself.

What was most useful to you?

The convergent nature of the work we have done. I have really benefited from the overarching guidance towards finding solutions. I have had talking therapy in the past, which was useful for bringing out the issues at play but I found it didn’t really help me to find solutions. This therapy has really encouraged me to hone in on the issues, explore solutions, find ones that work and then cement them as new ways of thinking and relating.

It was also very useful to have been able to discuss whether medication was the right option and be given the encouragement/opportunity to think about whether that was actually the best path for me in the long term.

What did you find least helpful?

Nothing in particular comes to mind.

What would you like me to change about the way I dealt with you?

I think you have had the right balance of allowing me to be who I am and explore what has been coming up, but also you provided sufficient structure to ensure we have stayed on track to achieve my goals.

The only thing I would have changed was the suggestion to stop therapy part way through which came slightly abruptly. We worked through this together at the time, so it wasn’t an issue, and in fact I think something good came out of it – because it challenged me to evaluate where I was at at the time and identify that I needed to continue, which resulted in a re-evaluation of my goals and renewed determination to achieve them.

The therapy I received has been life changing. It has given me more confidence which has allowed me to make decisions about where I want to be in life. It challenged my perception of reality - constantly making me question what was a fact and what was a feeling.I now have a direction and a set of values that will continue to guide what I do in life.

This is from Kojo T (black British male 21 years)

The therapy I received gave me a more holistic perspective of my present issues and challenges at the time. I was equipped with tools and mental skills which later turned into habits and as a result brought a close to the holes I was finding myself in due to my poor mental state. I feel a lot more confident and more familiar with my potential. Id’ say looking back on it the most useful parts of it was definitely learning how I was getting into the negative mental state I was getting into and learning tactics which I can use to keep myself on track.

The therapy I received has been much more effective than other therapy I have received in the past. The tools and exercises paired with the challenge I received from you allowed us to dig deeper past the fact that I’m self-aware and know the issues and actually begin to do work to move forward from these events. I feel much more resilient and able to cope with these things now as a result.
